All competitors of the women's quarterfinals are decided in the Beach Handball World Championships. Main round matches have been played on Thursday, 26 July.
Not a single mistake was committed by team Spain in Group I. The Spanish athletes defeated team Poland - 2-0 on the final day of the main round and topped the podium with 10 points. They were followed by team Poland (6 points). Greece and Paraguay also made it to the play-off round. Greece took an upper hand over Uruguay - 2-1, and Paraguay won against Chinese Taipei - 2-1.
Paraguay and Chinese Taipei failed to proceed from Group II. They will fight for 9-16 places in Consolation round.
Group I standings
1 place - Spain (10 points)
2 place - Poland (6 points)
3 place - Greece (6 points)
4 place - Paraguay (4 points)
5 place - Chinese Taipei (2 points)
6 place - Uruguay (2 points)
Vietnam and Thailand were out of the play-off round in Group II, as they took fifth and sixth places respectively. On Friday, team Russia easily beat team Thailand in two sets (20:8, 24:16).
Vietnam lost a game against Denmark - 2-0. This victory helped the Scandinavians qualify from the fourth place. Brazil, three times world champion, finished the main round with a game against Norway. One of the favourites of the tournament delivered a confident victory 2-0 and topped the standings.

3 place - Norway (6 points)
4 place - Denmark (4 points)
5 place - Vietnam (2 points)
6 place - Thailand (0 points)

Poland - Norway
Paraguay - Brazil
The quarterfinals will be played on 28 July.
