Brazil women’s team finishes 3rd at the World Championship

On Sunday 29 of July the bronze medal match between Brazil and Spain women’s teams took place at the Beach Handball World Championship in Kazan.

Two years ago in Budapest these teams played in the final match. Spain won that match in 3 sets. This time Brazilians have turned the tables. In the first set the teams were equal, however the 3rd time World champions managed to gain the decisive advantage and won it – 14:10. In the second set Spain could not do anything against the Brazilian team. With 2,5 minutes left the team from South America leaded 12:4 and the final result was clear. The final score – 15:10 in favor of the Brazilian team which won the bronze medals of the World Championship. The Spanish team finished 4th.

On the 29 of July the Placement matches for 5-8 places have also taken place. The teams of Russia and Paraguay played in the match for the 7th place. The hosts played better and took the victory – 2:0.

The teams of Denmark and Poland played in the match for the 5th place. In the tough game the Scandinavians finally beat the opponents with the score 2:1.
